Peter G. Goll, Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Goll has worked in the healthcare industry for more than 29 years. Mr. Goll has a diverse background in healthcare, which includes health plan operations, contract negotiation, physician group operations, business plan development, risk contracting methodologies, legal/operational development of physician organizations, care management, staff development/management, needs assessment, work planning & prioritization, risk adjustment and strategic planning. Prior to joining Excel, Mr. Goll worked in executive management for such companies as Care1st Health Plan, Humana, Molina, Arcadian and Tenet Healthcare. Mr. Goll holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration, with post graduate work at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, University of San Francisco and Stanford University.
Dr. Michael Griffis, Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Griffis rejoined Excel, MSO in February, 2019. As Chief Medical Officer, he oversees utilization management and quality. He is board certified in family medicine with a certificate of added qualification in geriatric medicine. Dr. Griffis graduated from the Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of San Francisco Santa Rosa Program and his fellowship at the University of Chicago. Dr. Griffis also holds an MBA from Harvard University. During his medical professional career, he has clinically managed panels of patients as well as served as a Medical Director for CVS Health and Anthem Blue Cross, Corporate Medical Director for Care1st, and Chief Medical Officer for the Alameda Alliance for Health Medi-Cal Health plan. He was previously the Excel, MSO Chief Medical Officer during 2017 and 2018.
Peggy Periandri, Chief Compliance Officer
Peggy Periandri serves as Chief Compliance Officer for EXCEL MSO. In this role, she is responsible for leading the internal processes for promoting and ensuring EXCEL MSO’s compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies including chairing its Compliance Committee which oversees its compliance risk management and internal complaint reporting programs. She is also responsible for formulating and implementing EXCEL MSO’s policies and procedures, including its Code of Conduct, and making sure they are communicated and trained upon across the company. Peggy joined EXCEL MSO in 2017. Prior to joining EXCEL, Peggy served as the Compliance Director at Santa Clara Family Health Plan. Peggy has a Bachelor’s degree from San Jose State University.
Ray Wengender, Chief Information Officer
As CIO, Ray is responsible for Enterprise Innovation, Technology Operations, and Business Intelligence. Ray has 6 years of combined Provider, Payer, and HIT experience in California, including over three years running the Digital Product Management team at Blue Shield of California. Ray has 22 years of progressive Technology, Product Management, Operations, and Marketing experience in the Healthcare, Online Education, and Financial Services industries, where he has held strategic roles at companies including JP Morgan Chase, Salomon Smith Barney, and Kaplan University. Ray’s expertise includes software and process design, strategic planning, and operations management. Ray holds a BS in Business Administration from SUNY at Buffalo and an MBA from the Zicklin School of Management in New York City. Ray’s post-graduate education includes professional certifications in Six Sigma and Product Management. Ray lives in Danville, CA and has been married to his wife, Natalie, since 2014.
Jennie Sanchez, Vice President of Revenue Cycle
As Vice President of Revenue Cycle Management, Claims Compliance and Claims Processing, Jennie Sanchez brings more than 30 years of experience in Leadership roles providing Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, Part D and Dual-Eligible compliance, regulatory, risk management and audit- claims related services have included the development, review and submission of materials to CMS and Health plans, conducting mock audits and risk assessments, developing operational metrics for reporting and compliance oversight, writing policies and procedures and providing staff training. Jennie specializes in the development and implementation of effective claims compliance, risk and delegation oversight programs. Prior to joining Excel MSO, she worked for Verity Health System 30 years as Senior Manager as the Director of Revenue Cycle, Managed Care Claims, Coding and Audit Projects and performed chargemaster, pricing, charge capture and ICD-10 reviews. Along with being a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Jennie’s credentials also include certification by the American Management Association of Coders as a Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR), recognizing a high-level of revenue cycle knowledge and excellence. Jennie also has provided Consulting Services for denial management and claims auditing for Regulatory Risk Compliance Specialties, Inc. Jennie holds a Certification in Health Care Administration from Andon College including a Leadership Award with Dale Carnegie including teaching adult education at Independence High School on healthcare administration while she is in the progress of Masters’ of Health Administration and Business Administration with University of Phoenix.
